Just some progress pictures from making my corset. My corset is from a Pattern in Corset and Crinolines. It is a 10 piece corset from the late 1880's with a spoon busk. I'm doing it out of herring bone coutil, one layer on the middle bits (as it need a little give to contort around the body) and two layers on the front and back panels (so as to give extra strength to the fastenings). I'm using a silk for my top fabric, and I'm up in the air as to whether I'll use cotton petershim as boing channels or leather strips. I think I'd like to use leather but I'll have to get it approved by my instructors.
